Individual Therapy
A space that’s entirely yours.
Sometimes life gets to a point where you know something needs to change.
Maybe you can’t quite name what’s wrong. You just know that the way things are isn’t working anymore. The weight of it follows you into work, into your relationships, into the quiet moments before you fall asleep.
Maybe something specific happened. Or maybe it’s been building slowly for so long that you’ve stopped noticing how heavy it’s gotten.
Either way, you don’t have to keep navigating it alone. Individual therapy offers something rare: one hour, just for you. No roles to play, no one else’s needs to manage. Just space to finally say the things you’ve been carrying, and to figure out what you actually want your life to look like.
Who is this for
Individual therapy at Mindful Living is for anyone who feels like something in their life needs attention. You don’t have to be in crisis. You don’t have to have a diagnosis. You don’t have to have it all figured out before you reach out.
We work with adults navigating:
Anxiety, depression, and mood struggles that affect daily life
Trauma, PTSD, and the lasting impact of difficult experiences
Eating disorders and a complicated relationship with food or body image
Life transitions including career changes, divorce, loss, and major life shifts
Relationship struggles, low self-esteem, and patterns that keep repeating
LGBTQIA+ identity, coming out, and navigating an affirming sense of self
Grief and loss
Stress, burnout, and feeling chronically overwhelmed
If you’re a teenager, young adult, or older adult wondering whether therapy is right for you, it probably is. The only requirement is a willingness to show up and see what’s possible.
What individual therapy looks like
Individual therapy at Mindful Living is a collaborative process. You bring what’s on your mind, what’s been weighing on you, or what you want to understand better about yourself. Your therapist brings training, tools, and a genuine commitment to helping you figure it out.
Sessions are typically 50 to 55 minutes, held weekly or biweekly depending on what works best for you. They can take place in person at our Towson or Bel Air offices, or virtually anywhere in Maryland.
There’s no single way a session looks. Some days you’ll come in with something specific to work through. Other days you’ll need space to process something unexpected. Both are welcome. Therapy isn’t linear, and neither is healing. What stays consistent is the relationship with your therapist, the safety of the space, and the commitment to showing up for yourself.
Our therapists draw from a range of evidence-based approaches tailored to your specific needs including CBT, DBT, ACT, IFS, EMDR, somatic therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and more. You don’t need to know which approach is right for you before reaching out. That’s something we figure out together.
You have questions. We have answers.

They are. Full stop. You don’t need to be in crisis, have a diagnosis, or have experienced something dramatic to benefit from therapy. If something is getting in the way of you feeling like yourself, that’s enough. Therapy isn’t reserved for the worst moments of someone’s life. It’s a space to understand yourself better, build skills, and work through whatever is making life harder than it needs to be. You deserve support regardless of how “bad” things are.
-
This is one of the most common things we hear, and we take it seriously. Therapy not working usually comes down to one of two things: the fit wasn’t right, or the timing wasn’t right. A different therapist, a different approach, or simply being at a different point in your life can change everything. At Mindful Living, we prioritize finding the right fit above everything else. If the first therapist you work with isn’t clicking, we’ll help you find someone who does. We’d rather you find the right person than stay somewhere that isn’t working.

We understand that cost is a real consideration, and we want to be as transparent as possible. We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and United Healthcare. For those whose insurance we don’t accept, we can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement. Individual therapy rates vary by therapist, and we encourage you to ask about fees during your free 15-minute consultation so you have all the information before making any commitment.
