My path to working as a counselor has not been a direct one. I’ve worked in IT, the food industry, the theater, a high school, and, most recently, served in the Navy. Throughout all my different jobs and careers what I found most fulfilling was helping others navigate the different challenges that a person can face. So, when I separated from the Navy I was elated to discover I could use some of my VA benefits to pursue a career focused entirely on helping others.

Seeking support with mental health can be one of the most challenging experiences a person might face. It’s my goal to help support you through that process and provide you with the best support I can. The sessions, and the journey is yours, but I will be here to cheer you on the entire way.

I believe our early experiences have a foundational effect on how we learn to face life’s different challenges. In sessions I remain person centered and multi-cultural in treatment planning. I firmly believe each one of us has our own personal cultural experience based on where and when we grew up, our beliefs and backgrounds, and the journey we have experienced in life.

During my internship I worked at the Steven A. Cohen Family Clinic serving active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. It is my hope to continue to serve that community. However, given all the jobs I have had, it’s certainly not the only community I have experienced or worked with.

I have experience using different approaches to include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy, and both long term and symptom targeted approaches. I am experienced helping others with PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
